James Price-Melland

James Price-Melland has a diverse work experience in the field of network engineering and IT solutions.

James started their career in 2007 as an ISSS Help Desk Technician at the Texas Attorney General, where they worked until 2008.

From 2009 to 2014, they worked at Rackspace, the Open Cloud Company, as a Network Security Engineer I.

Following this, they joined ZeroLag Hosting as a Senior Network Engineer in 2015 and remained there until 2018.

James then worked at CloudWave, Healthcare IT Solutions as a Cloud Network Engineer from 2018 to 2020.

In 2021, they joined Amazon as a Network Security Engineer and worked there until 2023.

Currently, they hold the position of Senior Network Engineer at Absolute Performance Inc. since June 2023.

James Price-Melland's education history begins with their enrollment at Texas State Technical College from 2006 to 2009. During this time, they pursued an Associates degree in Computer Networking and Security Technology.

More recently, in 2020, James attended Western Governors University and earned a Bachelor's degree in Network Operations and Security.

In addition to their formal education, James has obtained several certifications throughout their career. James received the CompTIA Network+ certification in November 2005. Following this, they obtained the Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certification in August 2009. In November 2010, James acquired the Implementing Cisco IOS Network Security (IINS) certification.

James further enhanced their qualifications with several Cisco certifications, including Implementing Cisco IP Routing (ROUTE), Implementing Cisco IP Switched Networks (SWITCH), Implementing Cisco Enterprise Advanced Routing and Services (ENARSI), and Implementing Cisco Enterprise Network Core Technologies (ENCOR). James successfully completed these certifications in 2016, 2018, and 2021, respectively.

Additionally, James obtained certifications such as IT Information Library Foundations Certification (ITIL) from AXELOS Global Best Practice in December 2020, and Amazon Web Services Cloud Practitioner and Amazon Web Services SysOps Administrator - Associate from Amazon in May and June 2021, respectively. James also holds the Linux+ Powered by LPI Certification from the Linux Professional Institute, which they obtained in November 2020. Moreover, James has achieved the CompTIA A+, CompTIA Project+, and 642-524 Securing Networks with ASA Foundation (SNAF) certifications in October 2020, March 2021, and January 2011, respectively.

Finally, James obtained the 640-802 Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP-S) certification in November 2013 and the Cisco Certified Network Professional Security (CCNP-S) certification the same month. James achieved the 642-627 Implementing Cisco Intrusion Prevention System v7.0 (IPS), 642-637 Securing Networks with Cisco Routers and Switches (SNRS), and 642-648 Deploying Cisco ASA VPN Solutions (VPN) certifications in October, November 2013. These qualifications demonstrate James Price-Melland's commitment to enhancing their knowledge and expertise in the field of network operations and security.
