Carolynn M. Poulsen

Carolynn M. Poulsen has a diverse work experience in the field of global health and program development. Carolynn M. is currently serving as the Director - Global Health Security Account at Abt Associates starting in 2023. Before that, they worked at ICF as the Growth Lead for Infectious Disease and Global Health Security from 2022 to 2023. From 2018 to 2022, Carolynn held various positions at Pathfinder International, including Strategic Growth Lead for Francophone West and Central Africa, and Portfolio Manager for the same region. During their career, they also worked as an Independent Consultant, specializing in program design and strategy development, from 2017 to 2018. Prior to that, they served as an African Union Program Development Specialist at USAID from 2016 to 2017. Carolynn has experience in health program management as well, having worked as the Health Program Director at the Aged and Children Pastoralists Association in 2015, and as the Gender and Sexual Health Program Manager at ICW Global from 2013 to 2015. Carolynn M. also worked as a Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights Project Manager at Fundación Henry Dunant América Latina in 2013, and as an Adolescent Sexual and Reproductive Rights Program Assistant at HEDAC from 2009 to 2013.

Carolynn M. Poulsen holds a Master of Public Health (MPH) degree in International Public Health, with Merit from the University of Liverpool. Carolynn M. also obtained a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Sociology and Psychology from the University of Illinois Chicago. Additionally, they completed a Post Graduate Diploma in Human Rights, Public Policy, and Gender from the Henry Dunant Institute.
