Karin Martinson has extensive experience in policy analysis and research. Karin worked at Abt Associates as the Workforce and Disability Account Lead, overseeing a portfolio of projects at the U.S. Department of Labor and other federal and state agencies. Prior to that, they were a Senior Research Associate at The Urban Institute, where they directed research projects focused on evaluating employment and other policies to improve the status of low-income families. Karin also worked at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Office of Planning and Evaluation, as a Senior Analyst, developing policy options and analyzing proposals related to welfare reform. In addition, they held a Senior Research Associate position at MDRC.
Karin Martinson earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Government and Economics from Oberlin College in 1983. Karin later pursued a Masters degree in Public Policy from the University of California, Berkeley, which they completed in 1986.
