Chief Communication Officer at Abu Dhabi Global Market

Juma Al Hameli was appointed Chief Communication Officer of Abu Dhabi Global Market (ADGM) in January 2023. In his current role, he is leading and managing Marketing and Corporate Communications, driving the strategies and development of overall communications, public relations, marketing and branding, events, and digital and social media to position ADGM as a leading international financial centre in the region. His roles and responsibilities are directly aligned with achieving ADGM’s ambitious goals, agendas and 5-year targets as an international financial centre (IFC) based in Abu Dhabi.

In his prior role as the Chief of Staff at ADGM, Juma was responsible for leading ADGM’s Executive Affairs Sector, which is a critical component of the ADGM Authority. Since joining ADGM in 2014, he has played a vital role in the launch as well as growth of ADGM. His previous contribution as ADGM’s Chief Strategy and Business Development Officer was exceptional as he has overlooked the strategic direction of the organisation to enhance its performance and cement its position as one of the world’s most preferred IFCs while also fostering Abu Dhabi as the destination of choice. Furthermore, he has been instrumental to ADGM’s growth and performance by setting up, nurturing and leading ADGM’s key divisions ranging from ADGM’s IT to Marketing & Communications functions.

Juma is a seasoned leader with over 19 years of experience in the technology and financial services field and has demonstrated a track record of producing successful strategies and delivering innovative business solutions aligned with these strategies. He is an active board member of the Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX) and Chairperson of the Banking & Financial Services Working Group part of the Economic Collaboration Committee.

Juma holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering from Khalifa University (formerly known as Etisalat University College) in addition to having participated in several development programmes with Harvard University and IESE Business School.
