Ammar Shafqat

Asset Integrity Engineer at Abyss Solutions

Ammar Shafqat has a diverse range of work experience. Ammar started their career as an Engineering Intern at Attock Refinery Limited in 2019, where they diagnosed faults and supervised engineering staff in the civil maintenance department.

In 2020, Ammar took on two internships at Berkeley Associates (Pvt.) Ltd. Ammar gained experience in structural engineering, designing elements for concrete frame structures, and assisting with the preparation of drawings. Ammar also worked in geotechnical engineering, digitizing boreholes and compiling laboratory test results.

In 2021, Ammar joined CMQ ENGINEERING CO.(PVT) LTD as a Project Management Intern. Ammar supervised steelyard and concrete work for a two-lane underpass project and ensured compliance with drawings and specifications.

In the same year, Ammar also worked as a Virtual Assistant at SEODC, providing support remotely.

In 2022, Ammar joined TEDxNUST as the Deputy Director of Protocols. Ammar was responsible for VIP protocol, security planning, and coordination with guest speakers.

Later in 2022, they became a Planning Engineer at Sakoon, utilizing their skills in project planning and management.

Currently, Ammar Shafqat is employed as a Graduate Asset Integrity Engineer at Abyss Solutions Ltd, starting in 2023.

Ammar Shafqat's education history begins in 2014 when they attended Army Public School (APSACS) and obtained their Matriculation degree. Ammar continued their education at the same school and completed their Fsc degree in Pre-Engineering from 2016 to 2018. In 2018, Ammar Shafqat enrolled at the National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST) where they pursued a Bachelor of Engineering (BE) degree in Civil Engineering, which they completed in 2022.

In addition to their formal education, Ammar Shafqat has also obtained several certifications. In 2020, they completed the "Introduction to Environmental law and policy" certification from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. In 2021, they obtained certifications in "Construction project management" from Columbia University in the City of New York, "Renewable energy and green building entrepreneurship" from Duke University, "Mastering bitumen for better roads and innovative applications" from École des Ponts ParisTech, "Water Resources Management and Policy" from Université de Genève, "Greening the Economy: Sustainable Cities" from Lund University, and "BIM fundamentals for engineers" from National Taiwan University. In 2022, Ammar Shafqat obtained certifications in "Construction Scheduling" and "Construction Cost Estimating and Cost Control" from Columbia University in the City of New York, "The Effect of Fires on People, Property and the Environment" from the University of Maryland, and "Global Environmental Management" from DTU - Technical University of Denmark. Ammar also became a "Mckinsey Forward Program Member" at McKinsey & Company in 2022.
