Jonas Geyer

Jonas Geyer's work experience includes positions at Acacia Communications, now part of Cisco, and Cisco Systems, OTBU Germany, Cisco Optical GmbH (formerly CoreOptics). At Acacia Communications, Jonas worked as Director of Engineering starting in April 2021, after serving as Manager, DSP Engineering from October 2017 to April 2021, and as Principal DSP Engineer from April 2012 to October 2017. Prior to Acacia Communications, Jonas worked at Cisco Systems, OTBU Germany, Cisco Optical GmbH, where they held the role of Engineer in Hardware Engineering, System Design from September 2010 to March 2012. Before that, they were a System Design Engineer for one month in August 2010 and a PhD student specializing in Realtime Coherent Receivers from June 2007 to June 2010. Additionally, Jonas worked at CoreOptics as a Master Student for Optical Performance Monitoring with Coherent Optical Receivers from October 2006 to March 2007.

Jonas Geyer's education history begins in 2002 when they enrolled at FAU Erlangen-Nürnberg. Jonas earned their Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Optics, and High Frequency Electronics in 2007, receiving honors for their achievements. Following their Bachelor's degree, Jonas continued their studies at FAU Erlangen-Nürnberg and completed a Doctorate in Engineering (Dr.-Ing.) with honors in the field of Coherent Optical Transmission in 2010.
