Marc Gruber is currently serving as the Editor-in-Chief for the Academy of Management Journal (AMJ) since 2022. Prior to this, they held the position of Professor at EPFL (Lausanne) starting from 2005. Marc also served as the VP Innovation and President of EPFL Innovation Park from January 2017 to February 2021. Additionally, they are a Board Member at AMPLIFY SA and Swisspod Technologies since 2021. Marc Gruber has been associated with the Academy of Management since 2013, initially as an Associate Editor and later as the Deputy Editor of the Academy of Management Journal (AMJ). Marc was a Visiting Professor at Imperial College London from November 2015 to December 2018. Marc has also served as a Member of the Research Council, Division 1 at SNSF Swiss National Science Foundation from October 2015 to December 2016. Previously, they worked as a Senior Lecturer/Habilitand at Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München from October 2000 to October 2005. Marc Gruber has also been a Visiting Scholar at The Wharton School in 1999 and a Researcher at the University of St Gallen from October 1995 to December 1998.
Marc Gruber completed their education at several renowned institutions. From 1991 to 1995, they pursued a bachelor's degree in Management (lic. oec.) at the University of St.Gallen. Following this, they continued their studies at the same institution and obtained a doctoral degree (Dr.) in Management from 1996 to 1999.
In 1999, they had the opportunity to further enrich their knowledge as a Visiting Scholar at The Wharton School. Eventually, from 2000 to 2005, Marc Gruber attended Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München, where they achieved a post-doctoral degree (PD) in Management.
