Tori Bender

Tori Bender is an experienced communications professional currently serving as the Communications and Outreach Manager at the Naomi Berrie Diabetes Center within Columbia University Irving Medical Center since September 2014. Bender has been a Freelance Writer for the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics since March 2011, and previously held the position of Manager of Advocacy and Communications at the same organization from 2005 to 2011, where responsibilities included producing a monthly newsletter and facilitating webinars on health-related topics. Prior experience includes working as a Development Manager for the New York League of Conservation Voters from January 2002 to September 2004, focusing on environmental legislation and editorial publishing. Bender holds a Master of Journalism degree from Northwestern University and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of Pennsylvania.
