James Mac Hale

James Mac Hale has a diverse work experience in the finance and research fields. James started their career in 2011 as a Senior QA Financial Engineer at Misys Sophis, where they gained extensive experience in equity derivatives, structured derivatives, interest rate swaps, and commodities futures. In 2014, they worked as a Complex Pricing and Risk Specialist at HSBC Securities Services, where they validated prices of various financial instruments and provided reports to clients. In 2015, they worked as a Research Assistant at Dublin City University, contributing to a data project on residential house sales. Their responsibilities included data processing, creating a database, and conducting data analysis using Python and R. From 2016 to the present, James has been working at Acadia in various roles, including Head of Market Data and Senior Consultant. As a Senior Consultant, they developed and tested quantitative risk models for tier 1 Investment Banks and made significant contributions to submissions to multiple regulators. Their areas of focus included dynamic initial margin, structured finance, and derivatives.

James Mac Hale attended Trinity College Dublin from 2005 to 2010, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Theoretical Physics. After a break in their studies, from 2014 to 2015, they enrolled in Dublin City University to pursue a Master's Degree in Financial Mathematics.
