Maribel Barrera

Maribel Barrera has a diverse work experience in various roles and industries.

From April 2017 to the present, Maribel has been the Owner and Lead Photographer of their own company. Maribel is responsible for managing the business and providing photography services to clients.

Maribel also worked as a Social Media Coordinator for the Social Cognitive Development Lab from January 2017 to June 2018. In this role, they managed social media accounts and helped promote the lab's work.

In 2016, Maribel served as an Ourstorian for Kapatirang Pilipino, where they contributed to documenting and preserving Filipino history.

From January 2017 to April 2017, Maribel worked as an intern at UCSB CARE, where they created social media campaigns and collaborated with local restaurants to promote a campaign on bystander intervention.

Maribel also served as the Social Media Coordinator and Historian for the UCSB Literature Club from June 2015 to June 2016. In this role, they managed the club's social media presence and documented club events.

In March 2020, Maribel participated in the Digital Marketing Accelerator program offered by Acadium. Maribel received 1:1 coaching and completed 300 hours of immersive learning in digital marketing. Maribel developed skills in creating strategic digital marketing campaigns and managing paid media campaigns, among other areas.

In May 2020, Maribel briefly returned to their role as a Social Media Coordinator for their own company. Then, in June 2021, they took on the additional role of Social Media Coordinator at a new company.

Overall, Maribel Barrera has gained experience in social media coordination, photography, digital marketing, and historical documentation through their various roles and positions.

Maribel Barrera completed their Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Psychology and Comparative Literature from UC Santa Barbara between 2014 and 2018. Prior to that, they obtained their high school education at Gilroy High School, where they did not receive a specific degree or field of study. In terms of additional certifications, Maribel obtained a Mental Health First Aid certification in January 2016. Maribel also acquired a Social Media Certification from HubSpot in May 2022.
