Marcel Bilbao

Marcel Bilbao has a diverse work experience spanning over several decades. Marcel started their career in 1994 as a Mathematics Teacher in Jamaica through the United States Peace Corps. After completing their commitment, Bilbao worked at Parametric Technology Corp as a Field Sales Engineer for three years. Marcel then transitioned to MicroStrategy where they served as a Pre-Sales Consultant for just over a year. In 2001, Bilbao joined IBM, initially as a Rational software Sales Representative before taking on various roles such as Inside Sales Manager for the Federal sector, Inside Sales Leader in India, and Program Director for Global Sales Development in the IBM Security Systems division. From 2016 to 2018, they worked at Viavi Solutions as a Senior Inside Sales Manager. In 2018, Bilbao accomplished their long-term goal by securing a Foreign Service LNA Appointment at the U.S. Department of State. Marcel also joined Accedian, which was later acquired by Cisco, to serve as the Director of Business Development.

Marcel Bilbao has a Bachelor of Science degree in Metallurgical Engineering/Materials Science as well as Engineering and Public Policy from Carnegie Mellon University. Additionally, Marcel holds a Master of Science degree in Materials Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. Prior to these degrees, Marcel attended Shady Side Academy.
