Sarah Thorowgood, CMM, CMP, DES has extensive experience in event management and marketing. Sarah currently serves as the Marketing Events Director at Accela. Prior to this role, they held the position of Director of Events at Smart Communications, where they oversaw global strategic planning, reporting, and analytics for events across North America, Europe, and APAC. Sarah also worked at NISC as a Senior Meeting & Event Planner and Team Lead, responsible for managing large-scale live and virtual events. Sarah gained valuable experience as a Meeting & Event Consultant at Women of Achievement St. Louis, and as a Meeting & Event Planner at MAC Meetings & Events. Earlier in their career, Sarah served as the Executive Director and Event Manager at the Society of Pelvic Reconstructive Surgeons, where they were responsible for organizing an international medical conference and adhering to CME guidelines.

Sarah Thorowgood obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Theatre Design and Technology with a minor in Mass Communications from Francis Marion University. Sarah has also received multiple certifications in the events industry, including Certified Meeting Professional from the Events Industry Council, Certificate in Meeting Management from Meeting Professionals International, and Digital Event Strategist from PCMA. These certifications were obtained in 2017, 2019, and 2020 respectively.
