Nikolay Petrov

Nikolay Petrov has over 25 years of work experience in the field of data engineering and business intelligence. Nikolay is currently working as a Senior Data Engineer at Accela since 2019. Prior to this, they worked at Oneview Healthcare as a Senior Data Engineer, where they implemented new technologies such as Microsoft Azure Data Factory, Data Lake, Streaming Data, and NoSQL. Nikolay also developed and promoted the Enterprise Data Architecture strategy for the organization.

Before joining Oneview Healthcare, Nikolay worked at Sunsuper as a BI Technical Lead - Analytics & Insights. In this role, they led a team to develop enterprise-class business intelligence and analytical solutions using BI and Machine Learning technologies. Nikolay also set the BI strategy for the organization and led cross-functional teams to meet users' requirements.

Prior to Sunsuper, Nikolay worked at ALS Global as a Senior BI/DW Developer, where they coordinated with Business Managers to translate business requirements into coherent BI solutions. Nikolay designed, developed, tested, and implemented data warehouse systems for BI reporting and analysis.

Nikolay also worked at GEOVIA as a Senior BI Consultant, where they developed database systems, ETL processes, and in-house reporting infrastructure. Nikolay also developed, managed, and supported the BI infrastructure.

Before GEOVIA, Nikolay worked at Hewlett-Packard as a BI Delivery Lead. Nikolay had team management responsibilities and provided technical consulting and recommendations to ensure cost-efficient and customer-focused server infrastructure.

Nikolay'searliest work experience was at Iris Ltd. as a Solution Architect. In this role, they developed new ERP systems, optimized performance, upgraded databases, and provided additional analysis to management.

Nikolay Petrov obtained a Master's degree in Computer Science from Technical University Sofia, which they completed from 1990 to 1995. In 2016, they completed a Professional Program at Microsoft, and in 2017, they completed a Professional Program in Inclusive Leadership at Catalyst. In the same year, they also completed a Professional Program at Columbia University. Additionally, Nikolay Petrov has obtained various certifications, including Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Scientist Associate, Microsoft Certified: Azure AI Engineer Associate, and Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals, all in 2021. Nikolay has also completed several certifications in big data analytics and data science from Microsoft, as well as certifications in inclusive leadership and data science from Catalyst and Columbia University, respectively.
