Court R. Turner

Court R. Turner, JD joined Accelerator as Managing Director and Chief Business Officer in 2019. Immediately prior to that, he was an Operating Partner of Accelerator. Mr. Turner has been a member of the San Diego Biotech community for over 20 years.

Prior to joining Accelerator, Mr. Turner was a Venture Partner with Avalon Ventures for ten years. While at Avalon Ventures, Mr. Turner was the founding CEO and Director of both Synthorx, Inc. (a synthetic biology company based on technology from TSRI, La Jolla) and Cellular Approaches, Inc. He was also the founding Chairman and CEO of RQx Pharmaceuticals (transaction with Genentech). In 2002, Mr. Turner became a member of the executive management team at Kalypsys, Inc. Prior to that, Mr. Turner was Director of Business Development at Aurora Biosciences (acquired by Vertex in 2001).

Mr. Turner received his JD from the University of San Diego School of Law and holds a BS in psychology from San Diego State University.
