Adam Barber

Adam Barber has a diverse work experience. In 2012, they joined the US Army as an Aviator, Apache Helicopter Company Commander, and Brigade Assistant Operations Officer. Adam led various programs and deployments, improving aircraft availability and implementing asset management processes.

In 2018, Adam attended the Engineer Captains Career Course and Sapper Leader Course as a student. In 2019, they continued their role as an Aviator and Apache Helicopter / Shadow Aerial Drone Company Commander.

In 2022, Adam joined National Grid as an MIT LGO Operations Research Fellow. Adam utilized R, Python, and ArcGIS to create scalable machine learning models, predicting electric vehicle charging demand. Adam successfully developed an interactive program generating hourly predictions for a full year.

In the future, Adam will be the Director of Operations at Accelevation LLC starting from June 2023. Prior to their professional career, they worked as an Engineering and Research Assistant at the Institute for Sustainable Energy and the Environment from June 2011 to March 2012.

Adam Barber completed their Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering at Ohio University from 2007 to 2012. In 2018, they pursued a Master of Science in Engineering Management at the Missouri University of Science and Technology. Starting in 2021 and continuing until 2023, Adam is currently enrolled in two programs at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Adam is pursuing a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering as well as a Master of Business Administration. In terms of certifications, Adam obtained a Commercial Rotary Instrument Pilot certification from the Federal Aviation Administration in January 2015. Additionally, Adam has been recognized as a Tillman Scholar by the Pat Tillman Foundation, although no specific degree or field of study is mentioned.
