Amanda Trent

Amanda Trent is an experienced professional in assay development, currently serving as Director of Assay Development at Accellix since September 2018. Previously, Amanda held roles at Theranos, including Staff Scientist specializing in nucleic acid amplification assay development, immunoassay development, and cell-based assay development, leading projects such as the product development of a zika virus nucleic acid amplification test and contributing to the design of automated clinical hematology assays. Amanda’s academic background includes a PhD in Biomolecular Science and Engineering from UC Santa Barbara and a BS in Biology from The University of New Mexico. Research experience includes visiting a laboratory in Australia and working as a research intern at Sandia National Laboratories, where Amanda was involved in innovative biomolecular engineering projects.
