Kim Johnson

Director Of Educational Programming & Outreach at Accent Dance NYC

Kim Johnson is an accomplished performing arts educator and administrator with extensive experience in dance and theater. Currently serving as the Director of Educational Programming & Outreach at Accent Dance NYC since March 2023, Kim has also been a Teaching Artist for Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater since October 2014, actively contributing to arts education in NYC schools. Previous roles include Children's Ballet Teacher and Acting and Musical Theater Teacher at BRONX HOUSE from 2011 to 2023, as well as a Performing Artist in LEAP Artists Live!, where Kim originated the role of "Claudette" in Kathy D. Harrison's play "Liberty & Justice." With a foundation in arts education that spans over three decades, Kim has worked with various organizations such as Kids in the Game, Henry Street Settlement, and the Brooklyn Academy of Music. Kim holds a BA in Communications (Theater) from Northwestern University.
