Rebecca Rukeyser has a diverse work experience in various roles and industries. Rebecca started their career as an English Language Instructor at English Time in 2009. Rebecca then worked as a Literature and Creative Writing Instructor at The University of Iowa from 2010 to 2012. Following that, they took on the role of Associate Assistant Professor at the University of Iowa from 2012 to 2013. Rebecca then worked as a Writer/Editor and later as a Senior Content Editor at Shmoop from 2014 to 2018. In 2017, they co-founded the Berlin Writers' Workshop and served as faculty there until 2021. Rebecca also worked as a Content Writer at N2 Communications LLC from 2017 to 2021. In 2018, they became a Guest Faculty at Bard College Berlin, a Liberal Arts University. Rebecca also worked as an Instructor for Creative Writing at the University of Düsseldorf from 2018 to 2021. Currently, they are working as a Novelist at Doubleday since 2020. Prior to that, they held the position of Director of Content and Branding at AAX since 2019.
Rebecca Rukeyser completed their Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in English Language and Literature/Letters with a concentration in Creative Writing from the University of California, Santa Cruz. Rebecca attended this institution from 2003 to 2007. Later on, they pursued their Master of Fine Arts (MFA) in Creative Writing- Fiction from the University of Iowa's Iowa Writers' Workshop, graduating in 2012.
