Medell Briggs

Medell Briggs, MD, MPH, MSHS, serves as the Chief of Health Equity, Diversity and Inclusion and Associate Professor of Emergency Medicine at UCLA Health since July 2012. In addition, Medell Briggs holds multiple leadership roles including Director of Quality and Medical Director of Clinical Effectiveness in Emergency Medicine, and Quality Officer for the same department. As the Founder and CEO of Contour Health Solutions, established in July 2017, Medell Briggs provides strategic leadership and innovation in healthcare solutions. Additionally, a Clinical Advisor at access.mobile International, Inc. since October 2019, and former Senior Medical Director of Quality at Martin Luther King, Jr. Community Hospital, Medell Briggs' career is highlighted by a commitment to quality and health equity. Education includes a Doctor of Medicine degree from Harvard Medical School, a Master of Public Health from Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, and a Master of Science in Health Services from UCLA Fielding School of Public Health, with a Bachelor of Science in Microbiology and Molecular Genetics from UCLA.
