Mark Vaessen

Mark Vaessen currently serves as President and previously as Deputy President of Accountancy Europe since January 2021. As a Partner at KPMG since October 2017, Mark Vaessen also leads the Sustainability practice and chairs KPMG's Global Corporate & Sustainability Topic Team. Mark Vaessen was a Board Member of the Sustainability Accounting Standards Board (SASB) from January 2021 to August 2022 and served on the board of the European Financial Reporting Advisory Group (EFRAG) from 2014 until April 2021. Mark Vaessen's earlier experience includes a role as Global Head of IFRS at KPMG in the UK, as well as positions on the IFRS Advisory Council and as a National expert for the European Commission. Academic qualifications include a Master's in Business Economics and a post-graduate degree in Accountancy from Tilburg University.
