Xun Zhang

Xun Zhang's work experience begins with a role as a Software Engineer at TomoTherapy from November 2006 to June 2011. In this position, they developed various UI components and productionalized research algorithms for radiation delivery control in treatment plans.

Afterwards, Xun Zhang joined Accuray in June 2011 as a Senior Software Engineer in Treatment Planning. They designed and implemented a new UI for an integrated treatment planning system, improving workflow efficiency with different layouts. They also ported a Java codebase to MFC/C++.

Moving up in their career, Xun Zhang became a Senior Software Engineer in Data Management at Accuray from February 2015 to April 2016. They redesigned administration apps to support an integrated data management system and developed an API and library for interchange of patient plan data.

From April 2016 to September 2022, Xun Zhang served as a Senior Software Engineer in Treatment Delivery at Accuray. They played a key role in developing treatment delivery systems and software, including leading the cross-functional product definition and architecture for the next-generation online ART. They also worked on UI development for real-time target tracking and adaptation during treatment delivery.

In their most recent role at Accuray, Xun Zhang became a Tech Lead in Treatment Delivery starting in September 2022. They coordinated multiple projects and provided tradeoff analysis for product and technical designs, contributing to the selection of the way forward.

Xun Zhang obtained a Master's degree in Computer Engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, between 2002 and 2004.
