John Bibb is the Executive Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary at Acelity. John has held this position since June 2003. Prior to that, they were a Corporate Associate at Cox Smith Matthews Incorporated from May 2001 to June 2003 and Baker Botts LLP from January 1998 to April 2001. John also interned as an attorney at Echarri & Brindle Abogados in Madrid, Spain from August 1997 to December 1997.

John Bibb is responsible for leading the negotiation of go-private transactions and financings for M&A programs. John also manages complex litigation, including multiple high-value intellectual property and federal false claims act cases. Under their leadership, the company has transformed from 2011 to 2019, including the sale of Therapeutic Support Systems to Getinge for $275 million in 2012, the acquisition of Systagenix from One Equity Partners for $475 million in 2013, the sale of LifeCell Corporation to Allergan for $2.9 billion in 2017, and the acquisition of Crawford Healthcare for $120 million in 2018. Most recently, they led the negotiation of the sale of Acelity / KCI to 3M Company in 2019 for $6.7 billion.

John Bibb completed a JD at Baylor University School of Law and a BA in Economics, Political Science, Spanish at Texas A&M University.

They are on a team with Gaurav Agarwal - President and Chief Operating Officer, Ramesh Subrahmanian - President, International, and Brett Kraemer - Chief Compliance Officer. John Bibb reports to Andy Eckert, Chief Executive Officer.
