Melissa Opheim

COO at ACH CHILD AND FAMILY SERVICES

Melissa Opheim has dedicated her career to serving children and families. She has worked 32 years in some of Texas’ finest child and family serving organizations. Melissa provides leadership to a team of 180 dedicated individuals who work daily to serve children and families through their roles at ACH Child and Family Services.

Melissa oversees 16 different programs currently offered by ACH to meet the needs of children and families in the community. These include their two newest programs: Kinship Connections, a program to help support families who are caring for relative children; and, the Robert and Jane Ferguson Residential Treatment Center, a program that provides treatment and support for youth 13-17.

Melissa holds a bachelor’s degree in social work from Texas Tech University, a master’s degree in educational psychology from Texas Tech University, and a master’s degree in nonprofit administration from Notre Dame University. She is recognized by the State of Texas as a Licensed Social Worker, Licensed Professional Counselor and Supervisor, a Licensed Child Care Administrator, and a Licensed Child Placing Administrator. She also serves on the Texas Health and Human Services Committee for Advancing Residential Practices and on the Regulation Committee with the Texas Alliance of Child and Family Services.
