Hatylas Azevedo

Hatylas Azevedo has a diverse work experience spanning several companies and roles.

Starting in 2011, Hatylas worked at Aché Laboratórios Farmacêuticos as the Director of R&D and External Innovation. They were responsible for drug discovery, external innovation, and API R&D core. Hatylas led scouting initiatives, managed R&D projects, and utilized data analytics for decision-making. They also negotiated and partnered with international companies for co-development and in-licensing opportunities.

From 2014 to 2017, Hatylas was the Coordinator of Research, Development, and Innovation at Aché. They managed drug discovery projects, performed biological assays, and facilitated preclinical toxicology development. Hatylas completed the drug discovery stage of two projects and implemented a small-molecule drug discovery laboratory.

In 2017, Hatylas became the Manager of Research, Development, and Innovation at Aché. They oversaw the small-molecules and biologics discovery pipeline, conducted business development and due diligence, and established partnerships for drug development. Hatylas partnered with Brazilian R&D organizations and established research programs in oncology.

In 2019, Hatylas briefly worked at Merck Group as part of the Merck Innovation Cup.

Prior to their time at Aché, Hatylas worked as a Scientific Researcher at Faculdade de Medicina da Universidade de São Paulo from 2010 to 2011.

Overall, Hatylas Azevedo has extensive experience in research, development, and innovation in the pharmaceutical industry, with a focus on drug discovery and external partnerships.

Hatylas Azevedo completed a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Genomics and Bioinformatics from USP - Universidade de São Paulo from 2013 to 2016. In 2022, Hatylas Azevedo obtained a certification in Management of Technology: Roadmapping & Development from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. From 2017 to 2019, Hatylas Azevedo also earned a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from FIA - Fundação Instituto de Administração. In 2015, Hatylas Azevedo attended the Residential School on Medicinal Chemistry at Drew University. Prior to that, Hatylas Azevedo completed a Master's degree in Biotechnology from USP - Universidade de São Paulo from 2010 to 2012. Hatylas Azevedo's undergraduate studies were in Biomedical Sciences, with a specialization in Molecular Biology, at Unifesp - Universidade Federal de São Paulo from 2006 to 2009.
