Mrinmoy Barua

Mrinmoy Barua, PhD has a diverse range of work experience spanning over 20 years. Mrinmoy is currently working at Achievers as a Senior Staff Software Engineer, where they focus on working with cloud-native distributed systems, translating complex requirements into scalable implementations, and leading technical architecture discussions. Prior to this role, they worked at PTC as a Sr. Software Development Engineer, at the University of Waterloo as a Research Assistant/Grad Student, and at Care in Motion (CIM) as a Project Team Member. Mrinmoy also has experience working as a Project Coordinator and Research Assistant at Wireless Communication and Signal Processing Lab, Queen's University, CA, and as a Research Assistant at the University of Western Ontario. In their early career, Mrinmoy worked as a Lecturer and Project Member at The University of Asia Pacific, Bangladesh, and as a Software Engineer at Solver BD. Mrinmoy Barua, PhD completed their education in a chronological manner. Mrinmoy first attended The University of Asia Pacific from 1996 to 2000, where they earned a Bachelor of Applied Science (BASc) degree in Computer Science and Engineering. Mrinmoy then proceeded to Western University, where they pursued a Master of Science (MS) degree in Computer Engineering from 2006 to 2008. Finally, they attended the University of Waterloo from 2009 to 2014, where they obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Computer Engineering.

In addition to their academic degrees, Mrinmoy Barua has obtained several certifications to supplement their education. Mrinmoy completed the "Google Project Management Certificate" through Coursera in April 2022. In November 2021, they obtained the "Software Project Management Foundations" certification from LinkedIn. Prior to that, in March 2021, they obtained certifications in "Cloud Architecture: Core Concepts" and "Software Architecture Foundations" from LinkedIn. In January 2021, Mrinmoy Barua completed the "Critical Thinking" certification from LinkedIn.
