Martha Manning

Martha Manning is the Executive Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary at Achillion Pharmaceuticals. Martha has been with the company since February 2016 and was a key member of the senior leadership team that helped develop and execute the corporate strategy resulting in Achillion's acquisition by Alexion Pharmaceuticals in January 2020.

As corporate secretary, Martha manages corporate governance for the Board of Directors, and as chief legal officer, they established the office of general counsel and manages all legal and compliance matters. Martha is a legal and strategy partner on all business development activities, and they led the internal cross functional team that developed the strategy for Achillion's strong intellectual property portfolio. Martha also developed and operationalized an efficient contracting strategy for the company's significant outsourced activities.

In their role as Compliance Officer, Martha established and manages Achillion's healthcare compliance program.

Martha Manning received their Doctor of Law from the University of Pennsylvania Carey Law School.

They are on a team with Mingjun Huang - Senior Vice President, Head of Research, Anthony S. Gibney - Executive Vice President, Chief Business Officer, and Kevin P. Malobisky - SVP Global Regulatory Affairs and Quality & Compliance. Martha Manning reports to Joseph Truitt, President & CEO.
