Nimantha Baranasuriya

Nimantha Baranasuriya has a long and varied work experience. From 2007 to 2016, they worked at 99X Technology, starting as a Trainee Software Engineer and eventually becoming an Associate Tech Lead. During this time, they developed a faceted search framework using J2EE, Lucene, and Microsoft SQL Server. Nimantha also worked on a product suite for creation and publication of technical documents which fall under the S100D standard.

In 2014, 2015, and 2016, they held the role of Research Intern at Microsoft Research. In 2016, they also became a Cohort Member at Entrepreneur First. From 2019 onwards, they have been a member of the Industry Consultative Committee at the University of Colombo. Additionally, they are currently the Co-Founder and CEO of Ackcio.

Nimantha Baranasuriya received a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Computer Science from the National University of Singapore in 2016. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Computer Science and Engineering from the University of Moratuwa in 2009.
