Chief Architect - AMI Engineering at Aclara

Chris Fleck has a diverse work experience, starting as a Quality Assurance Engineer Co-op at Hobart Corporation. Chris then worked as an Engineering Assistant at Ohio Northern University and as a Teaching Assistant at Purdue University. Chris later joined Naval Undersea Warfare Center Newport as a Systems Engineer, managing prototype projects and developing sensor systems for Unmanned Underwater Vehicles.

Continuing their career, Chris worked at Aclara for several roles, including Senior Systems Engineer and Principal Systems Engineer. In these positions, they provided systems analysis, design, and definition for various projects related to electric meters, demand response devices, and power-line communication technology. Additionally, they led technical aspects of projects and developed algorithms, protocols, models, simulations, and test tools.

Their most recent role at Aclara was as Chief Architect - AMI Engineering, where they set the direction of the Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) technology roadmap and ensured adherence to architectural standards. Chris also chaired the AMI architectural council and guided tradeoffs to meet short-term business needs while considering long-term technology goals.

Chris Fleck completed their Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering and Applied Mathematics at Ohio Northern University from 1996 to 2001. Chris then pursued a Master's Degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering at Purdue University from 2001 to 2003. In 2018, they enrolled at Webster University and obtained a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree in Business Administration and Management, General, completing their studies in 2020.
