Derek Symon

Derek Symon has extensive work experience in the energy and technology sectors. Derek started their career at GE Energy in 2000 as a Customer Services Manager, where they managed global post-implementation support services for distribution network management software applications. In 2008, they joined General Electric as a Commercial Leader for Meters and later became a Commercial Segment Leader. In 2012, they moved to Aclara Technologies as the Director of Commercial Operations, leading the smart metering business in Europe, with a focus on the UK market. Throughout their career, Derek has demonstrated expertise in commercial strategy, negotiations, sales planning, team management, and profit and loss business management.

Derek Symon studied Computing Science at the University of Glasgow from 1993 to 1996. Derek earned a Bsc. degree in the field of study during this period.
