Scott Brown is a seasoned firmware engineer with extensive experience in advanced features development for smart electric meters and grid monitoring platforms, currently serving as a Principal Firmware Engineer at Aclara since January 2016. Prior roles include Senior Firmware Engineer at GE, where Scott led firmware updates and next-generation design for ANSI electrical metering products, and ownership of Giant Steps Technology, providing embedded systems consulting with expertise in software architecture, low power systems, and wireless communications. Scott's background also includes software engineering at MIT Lincoln Laboratory, where image processing algorithms were developed, as well as architecting embedded software for consumer digital video products at Videon Central Inc. Scott holds an MS and a BS in Electrical Engineering from Penn State University and the University of New Hampshire, respectively.
