Kary Moss serves as the Director of Affiliate Support and Nationwide Initiatives at the ACLU since October 2018, having also held the position of Acting National Political Director. Prior to this, Kary was the Executive Director of the ACLU of Michigan from August 1998 to October 2018, where significant initiatives were launched regarding children's rights, education reform, national security, poverty, health care access, and LGBT rights. Kary's experience includes teaching a course on judicial policymaking at the University of Michigan's Ford School of Public Policy from January 2015 to May 2017. Kary began working with the ACLU in the late 1980s as a staff attorney for the Women’s Rights Project, focusing on improving healthcare access for women with substance dependencies. Kary holds a Doctor of Law (JD) in Constitutional Law from the City University of New York School of Law, a Master's in International Affairs from Columbia University, and a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations from Michigan State University.
