Nahal Zamani is an experienced advocate in human rights and social justice, currently serving as the Director of State Campaigns at the ACLU since March 2024. Previously, Nahal held the position of Senior Vice President of Programs at the State Innovation Exchange from June 2021 to December 2023. Nahal's extensive experience includes roles such as Director of Movement Building at Demos, Advocacy Program Manager at the Center for Constitutional Rights, and Advocacy Associate in the Human Rights Program at the American Civil Liberties Union. Nahal's early career included positions as a Legal Assistant for the National Security Project and as an Assistant Teacher for refugee youth, along with bilingual project management experience. Nahal holds a Master’s degree in Human Rights from Columbia University and a Bachelor’s degree in French and Women's Studies from Rutgers University.
