Aaron Shew

Aaron Shew is the current Data Science Director at AcreTrader. Prior to this, they were an Assistant Professor of Agricultural Economics at the University of Arkansas from May 2021 to July 2022. From June 2015 to May 2018, they were an NSF Graduate Research Fellow investigating multi-faceted problems spanning agribusiness, technology adoption, agricultural development, and food security. Projects Aaron has worked on have covered diverse topics in Arkansas, Bangladesh, India, South Africa, Mozambique, US, and EU. In January 2019 to May 2021, they were an Assistant Professor, REL Wilson Chair of Agricultural Economics at Arkansas State University where they did research, teaching and extension project management in agricultural economics, digital agriculture, and agricultural data science. From June 2018 to December 2018, they were a Postdoctoral Research Scientist at the Dale Bumpers Small Farms Research Center for the US Department of Agriculture (USDA) Agricultural Research Service (ARS). Lastly, from April 2012 to March 2013, they were the Director of Training & Research for Agrisoya, LLC (Launched by SALT Intl).
