Gabe Lyons is a founding engineer at Acryl Data. Gabe was previously a senior software engineer at Airbnb from August 2016 to February 2021.

At Airbnb, Gabe was responsible for leading initiatives to establish best practices around working with data from event logging to data analysis. Gabe also built the new Wishlist experience in web from the ground up. In addition, Gabe was co-technical lead of the Golden Eagle project, which aimed to reimagine Airbnb's user-centric web performance metrics using industry best standards.

From 2017 to 2018, Gabe served as technical lead of the Core Logging project at Airbnb. In this role, they led a series of improvements to the developer experience of instrumenting analytics logging at Airbnb and created three distinct educational classes on logging for various groups. Gabe also initiated and led the Magical Logging initiative, which created cross-platform consistent schemas & easy-to-use client libraries for logging key events (interactions, impressions and page visits).

In their earliest role at Airbnb, Gabe worked on the company's internal A/B testing tool (ERF). Gabe enabled new types of experimentation (multi-armed bandit) and built a feature to propose and discuss changes to experiment configurations.
