Alper YEGIN

Alper YEGIN has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Alper is currently serving as the Chief Technology Officer at Actility since February 2016. Alongside this role, they also hold the position of Vice-Chair of the Board and Chair of Technical Committee at LoRa Alliance since 2016.

Prior to their current positions, Alper worked as an IoT Strategy and R&D Consultant at Independent Consulting from March 2015 to January 2016. Alper contributed to various projects and gained expertise in the field.

From 2004 to 2015, Alper worked at Samsung Electronics as an Architect. Alper was involved in IP Mobility Management and Security design in the 5G project. Alper actively participated in standardization activities and held the responsibilities of Rapporteur and Design Team Leader in various organizations.

Before Samsung, they were a Lecturer at Bogazici University and Istanbul Technical University from January 2011 to January 2013.

Alper's career started at NTT DOCOMO, Inc. in October 2001, where they worked as a Senior Research Engineer. Alper focused on research, design, and standardization of All-IP architecture for NTT DoCoMo's 4G wireless network. Alper'swork mainly centered around access network security, authentication optimizations, AAA protocol, and system design. Alper also contributed to the development of IP-layer mobility protocols and algorithms.

Alper's career journey began at Sun Microsystems in June 1997, where they served as a Member of Technical Staff in the Internet Engineering Group of Solaris Software. Alper actively contributed to the TCP/IP stack of Solaris and played a key role in driving industry standards through their active participation and leadership in IETF. Alper contributed to the Solaris IPv6 Project, which was the first standards-compliant IPv6 host stack to ship with Solaris 8 in 2000.

Alper YEGIN completed their Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering from Boğaziçi University between 1989 and 1994. Following this, they pursued a Master of Science degree in Computer Science from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign from 1995 to 1997.
