Sherif H. Elkholy

Sherif H. Elkholy, Ph.D., serves as a Partner and Head of the Middle East & Africa at Actis since July 2004, overseeing business operations across the region. Elkholy also holds multiple leadership roles including head of the Middle East & Africa Infrastructure & MENA Private Equity, and Fund Head of Neoma Private Equity Fund IV. As an Investment Committee Member of Neoma Africa Fund III and a board member of Actis UK Advisors Limited, Elkholy contributes to strategic decisions. Previous board memberships include roles with Yellow Door Energy, Emirates District Cooling Company, Cleopatra Hospital Group, and Lekela Egypt for Renewable Wind Power. Academic experience includes a position as A. Professor of Finance at The American University in Cairo from January 2016 to June 2021, focusing on private equity. Elkholy's educational background includes a PhD in Economics and an MSc in Finance and Economic Development from SOAS University of London, alongside executive education programs at Stanford and Harvard.
