Chris Wand

Chris Wand is a Software Engineering Manager at Activate Care. Chris has over five years of experience as a web software developer, building and maintaining web applications using Rails, Ember, and Node. Chris has served as a lead developer on several projects and has been responsible for project management, primary client contact, and mentoring junior developers. Chris has worked on many different health-care products, including oncology decision support software for McKesson (Clear Value Plus), prediction software for chemotherapy-induced anemia for a large pharmaceutical company, General Sensing, an IoT company focused on hospital hygiene, and Hook.md, a start-up seeking to integrate data from multiple EHRs into a single provider-facing application which was featured at the most recent HIMSS. Chris has four years of experience with using FHIR (including FHIR profiling and mapping) to build healthcare integrations. Chris has experience at every stage in the life-cycle of an application, from foundational DevOps (e.g. CI and deployment via AWS) for green-field projects through maintenance of legacy Rails applications.

Chris Wand completed a BA in Political Science at the University of Chicago and attended high school at Newark Academy.
