Nieves Martínez-Marshall

Nieves Martínez-Marshall, PhD, is a distinguished professional with a strong background in molecular biology and biotechnology. Currently serving as an Activate Fellow since June 2023 and an Innovator Fellow at Breakthrough Energy from September 2023 to August 2024, Martínez-Marshall previously founded and led Novel Farms, Inc. as CEO, focusing on the development of sustainable cell-based meat alternatives. Martínez-Marshall held the position of Senior Scientist at Wild Earth Inc. and completed a postdoctoral research role at UC Berkeley, where significant research was conducted on the Target of Rapamycin Complex 2 (TORC2). Prior academic achievements include a PhD from Humboldt University of Berlin, where critical insights into protein regulation were garnered, and experience at the Max Delbrueck Center for Molecular Medicine establishing laboratory protocols.
