Jacqueline Bergseid

Research Scientist at Active Motif

Jacqueline Bergseid has a diverse work experience starting in 1996 as a Research Assistant at Invitrogen Corporation. Jacqueline then worked as a Scientist II at Genos Biosciences, Inc from 1998 to 1999, followed by a role as a Research Technician III at The Scripps Research Institute for a year. Jacqueline then pursued a graduate degree at UC San Diego, where they worked as a Graduate Student for six years, studying the effect of a point mutation in the Retinoblastoma gene.

After completing their graduate studies, Jacqueline worked as a Staff Scientist at Life Technologies/Invitrogen from 2007 to 2011. In this role, they were responsible for generating custom molecular biology reagents and leading project execution.

Jacqueline then worked as a Research Scientist at ChemDiv, Inc. from 2012 to 2014, and again from 2016 to 2016. During their time at ChemDiv, they conducted research and contributed to the cloning and characterization of recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibodies.

From 2014 to 2015, Jacqueline served as a Principal Scientist at Predictive Biology. In this role, they expanded and banked mouse embryonic stem cells, established high throughput lab automation, and selected compounds for screening.

Most recently, Jacqueline worked as a Research Scientist at MediCell Technologies, LLC from 2016 to 2020. Jacqueline'swork primarily focused on research in the field of cell technologies.

Currently, Jacqueline is employed as a Research Scientist at Active Motif, where they conduct research related to cloning and characterization of recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibodies, as well as automating NGS workflow using Beckman Coulter Biomek i7.

Jacqueline Bergseid obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Cell and Developmental Biology from the University of Rochester from 1992 to 1996. Jacqueline then pursued a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Molecular Biology at UC San Diego, completing their studies from 2000 to 2007. Additionally, Jacqueline earned a professional certificate in In Vitro Diagnostics from UC San Diego between 2012 and 2013.
