Greg Svoboda has a diverse work experience that spans various industries and roles. Greg is currently working as a Developer Relations Engineer at ActiveCampaign since January 2022. Prior to this, they held the position of Lead Software Engineer - Connected Homes at GE from August 2018 to January 2022.
Before joining GE, Greg worked at OnShift as a Software Engineer from May 2016 to August 2018. In this role, they collaborated with cross-functional teams to build products, defined technical standards, and solved technical and organizational problems. Greg utilized a range of technologies such as Python, JavaScript, React, Node, and AWS.
From September 2014 to August 2018, Greg owned and operated 6th City Knives, a high-end knife sharpening business in Cleveland. Greg specialized in Japanese and American cutlery. During this time, they also worked as a Lead Creator at Metanarrative - Video and Web Production from August 2009 to August 2018.
Greg's earlier work experience includes being a Java Apprentice at The Software Guild in 2016, a Joy Director at Leandog/225/ArrasKeathley from June 2015 to September 2015, and a Technical Director at Gateway Community Church from May 2014 to August 2015.
Greg also worked as a Consultant at Robert Half, where they handled data analysis and job placement projects for Youth Opportunities Unlimited and Providence Hospital. Additionally, they served as a High Value Product Coordinator at Lile International Companies, managing logistics and coordinating teams.
Throughout their career, Greg has acquired skills in various programming languages, agile methodologies, technical architecture, and project management.
Greg Svoboda has a Master's Degree in Divinity/Ministry from George Fox University, which they completed from 2010 to 2013. Greg also holds a Bachelor's Degree in Youth Ministry from Alliance University, which they obtained from 2001 to 2004. In 2016, Greg attended The Software Guild to study Java software development, although they did not complete a degree there. Greg has additional certifications, including being a Triplebyte Certified Generalist Engineer obtained in November 2021, and an SQL certification from Pluralsight Code School.
