Reyhaneh Toufanian

Senior Product Development Scientist at actnano

Reyhaneh Toufanian has worked in a variety of scientific and engineering roles since 2012. From 2012 to 2015, they worked as an Engineering Intern and Laboratory Technician at Sina Glass Company, where they determined the rheological properties of borosilicate glass for pharmaceutical packaging and assessed the physical and chemical properties of products in the quality control laboratory. From 2015 to 2016, they worked as a Laboratory Technician and Graduate Research Assistant at Boston University, where they investigated theoretical and empirical methods used for the calculation of size and concentration of cadmium and indium based quantum dots, and used TEM to confirm data obtained from calculations. From 2020 to 2021, they worked as a Research Intern at CapeSym, Inc., where they performed post growth semiconductor and scintillator device fabrication including cutting, polishing, etching, annealing, and contact deposition for applications in radiation detection, analyzed the performance of detectors under alpha, gamma, and X-ray radiation and performed I-V testing, and characterized samples through transmission and FTIR measurements. Currently, they are a Senior Product Development Scientist at actnano, Inc.

Reyhaneh Toufanian received their Bachelor's degree in Materials Science from Iran University of Science and Technology in 2014. Reyhaneh then went on to pursue a Master of Science (M.S.) in Materials Science and Engineering from Boston University, which they completed in 2016. Finally, Reyhaneh Toufanian earned their Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Materials Science and Engineering from Boston University in 2020.
