Daniel Smith

Daniel Smith has a diverse work experience, starting from 2014 as a Restaurant Team Member at The Yew Tree Inn. In 2019, they worked as a Restructuring Placement Student at Duff & Phelps, focusing on business turnarounds and distressed transactions. In 2019, they also interned as a Finance Intern at Newbury Investments (UK) Ltd. In 2021, Daniel worked as a Startup Funding Associate at SeedLegals, providing support for their Subscription and Cohort Manager Products. In 2022, they served as a Customer Operations Manager at RevMap. In the same year, they became an Angel Investor, making small-ticket investments in early-stage startups. Daniel worked as a Freelancer since 2016, undertaking special projects in areas like fundraising, customer success operations, and market and technology research. In 2023, they founded Deepsight, where they served as a News Curator. Daniel also worked as a Climate Fellow at 4WARD.VC Climate Accelerator & Investor Syndicate and as a Project Manager at ACUA Ocean.

Daniel Smith completed their education at various institutions. Daniel started their education at Bishop Heber High School in 2010 and graduated from there in 2015. Daniel then attended Bishop Heber High School: Sixth Form from 2015 to 2017. Following this, Daniel studied at the University of Exeter from 2017 to 2021, where they completed a BSc Hons. in Economics & Finance.

In addition to their formal education, Daniel also obtained several certifications. In 2019, they earned the Financial Modelling & Valuations Analyst certification from the Corporate Finance Institute® (CFI) and the Bloomberg Markets Concepts certification from Bloomberg LP. In 2020, they obtained the Level 4 Certificate in ESG Investing from CFA UK and completed the Founders Factory: Build a Startup from Scratch program through FutureLearn. In 2021, Daniel completed the Antler Launch Academy program offered by Antler. Most recently, in 2023, they earned the Google Data Analytics Specialization certificate from Coursera.
