Rafael Ordonez

Rafael Ordonez is a Lead Design Engineer at Acuity Brands since March 2016, specializing in the design of life-safety UL924 listed emergency lighting products that incorporate various electrical components and oversee the creation of manufacturing documentation. Previously, Rafael served as a Senior Application Engineer at Texas Instruments from June 2009 to January 2016, focusing on mixed-signal and analog designs and generating technical training materials. Earlier roles include Graduate Research and Teaching Assistant at The University of Texas at El Paso, where Rafael worked on projects involving cadmium sulfide thin films and plasma etching, and Chemistry Peer Leader, facilitating study sessions and teaching materials at the university. Rafael holds a Master’s and Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering, both from The University of Texas at El Paso.
