Lei Zhu is a highly experienced scientist with expertise in molecular and cell biology, plant biology, and genetics. Currently serving as a Staff Scientist at Acuity Spatial Genomics, Inc., since June 2022, Lei Zhu focuses on R&D reagents, assays, and product development. Previously, Lei Zhu held the position of Senior Scientist at PacBio, contributing to significant advancements such as the development of PGx CYP2D6 sequencing and the SMRTbell enzyme cleanup kit v2. Notable achievements include first-author poster presentations at major genetics conferences. Additional experience includes roles at Elim Biopharmaceuticals and Centrillion Biosciences, where Lei Zhu led product development for genomic applications. A postdoctoral scholar at UC Berkeley, Lei Zhu specialized in the characterization of glycosyltransferases. Lei Zhu obtained a Ph.D. in Molecular and Cell Biology from the University of California, Riverside, and a Master's Degree in Genetics from Iowa State University.
