Thomas Altmann has extensive work experience in the energy and desalination industry. Thomas started their career at Fluor as a Process Engineer in 1992. Thomas then worked at Babcock Borsig Power as a Department Head for Desalination from 1995 to 1999. In 2000, they joined Bechtel Power Corporation as a Vice President for Desalination, a role they held until 2005. From 2005 to 2013, Thomas served as the Executive Vice President for Energy and Desalination at ILF Consulting Engineers. Currently, they are at ACWA Power, where they started as the Vice President for Technology in 2013 and is currently serving as the Executive Vice President for Innovation and New Technology since September 2021.
Thomas Altmann holds an Engineer's degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Applied Sciences, Wels, Austria. Additionally, they have completed executive education programs in various fields at MIT Sloan, including Artificial Intelligence: Implications for Business Strategy, Corporate Innovation: Strategies for Leveraging Ecosystems, and Technology and Innovation Acceleration Program.
