Steve Rutherford has a diverse and extensive work experience. Steve started their career as a Misdemeanor Public Defender at the Ada County Public Defenders Office in 1996. From there, they worked as a Meridian City Prosecutor (Contract) at White Peterson in 1998. In 1999, they joined the City of Boise as the Chief Deputy City Attorney, a role they held until 2016. In 2018, they became the Ada County Prosecutor, Civil at the Ada County Prosecutor's Office. Currently, they are the Chief Operating Officer at Ada County, Idaho, where they are responsible for assisting the 14 departments in efficiently delivering services to citizens and providing advice to the County Commissioners.
