Mark Cohen

Regional President, Ohio, Michigan at Adams Publishing Company

The APG Ohio group consists of several newspapers and their websites, including The Athens Messenger, The Athens News, The Crescent-News (serving Defiance, Ohio), Circleville Herald, Perry County Tribune, The Logan Daily News, The Pike County News Watchman, The Courier (serving Vinton and Jackson Counties in Ohio) and the Record & Clarion (serving Gladwin County and Beaverton, Michigan).

Prior to Joining APG, Cohen was President of the Pennsylvania NewsMedia Association, and MANSI Media, an agency that placed print and digital advertising in all 50 states.

Cohen was the Publisher of the Akron Beacon Journal and Ohio.com from 2013 to 2017. Under Cohen’s leadership, the Akron Beacon Journal was voted 2017 Newspaper of the Year. While in Akron, Cohen served on the boards of the Greater Akron Chamber of Commerce, the Akron-Canton Regional Foodbank, the Akron Roundtable, the United Way of Summit County and the Downtown Akron Partnership.

With over 30 years in the business, Cohen has worked in various capacities for CNHI, Thomson Newspapers, Morris Communications and GateHouse Newspapers. He served as COO at Pioneer Newspaper Group from 2009 to 2013, which was purchased by Adams Publishing Group in late 2017.

Cohen has held several other various positions as new product director throughout his career, and he launched XL Marketing, an ad agency, while in Indianapolis, that helped design the collateral material for MANSI MEDIA at PNA

A native of Cincinnati, Ohio, Cohen is a 1979 graduate of Northern Kentucky University with a degree in Mass Communications. After graduation, Cohen wrote for a weekly newspaper, before joining The Cincinnati Enquirer in sales.
