Mark Dobie serves as Regional President for Adams Publishing Group, (APG) in Montana and Oregon. In that capacity, he serves as Publisher of two daily newspapers, The Klamath Falls Herald & News and The Bozeman Daily Chronicle. In addition, he oversees The Lake County Examiner, the Nickel, and The Belgrade News. Dobie is also charged with operating the Big Sky universal design desk; a group that designs, paginates and sends to print several daily and weekly newspapers. The U-desk customers are both inside and outside of the APG group.
Born in Akron Ohio, Dobie graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Economics from Ohio State University in 1987. He began his career with Internet pioneer CompuServe. As a founding member of two successful Internet connectivity start-ups, Fiberlink and NetStream, he helped lead those companies in forming part of the early high-speed Internet infrastructure in the Intermountain West.
In 2001, Dobie became owner and Publisher of the Visitor Magazine, a longtime Wisconsin travel publication that would eventually become part of APG in Hayward Wisc. After selling the magazine group, he moved to join Pioneer Newsgroup in Mount Vernon, Wash., now also a part of APG.
