Adaptation Fund
Bianka Kretschmer serves as a Climate Change Specialist focusing on Resource Mobilization and Strategic Partnerships at the Adaptation Fund since August 2019. Previous roles include Adviser to the Manager and Climate Change Analyst at the same organization. With extensive experience as a Climate Policy Analyst at Climate Analytics from October 2013 to July 2019, Bianka specializes in international climate finance and climate diplomacy, providing technical support to delegations from vulnerable countries during UN climate negotiations and in relation to the Green Climate Fund. Bianka's earlier work includes positions as a Junior Climate Policy Analyst at Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin and a Research Assistant at the Centre for Human Rights. Bianka holds a Master of Arts in English Literatures from Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin and a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations from Technische Universität Dresden. Additionally, Bianka has studied Sustainable Development at Université de La Réunion.

Adaptation Fund
Since 2010, the Adaptation Fund has committed about US$ 1.1 billion for climate change adaptation and resilience projects and programmes, including over 165 concrete localized adaptation projects in the most vulnerable communities of developing countries around the world with over 43 million total beneficiaries. It also pioneered Direct Access, empowering countries to access funding and develop projects directly through accredited national implementing entities.
