Melanie Rushefski

Melanie Rushefski is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in scientific research and biobanking operations. Currently a Senior Scientist at Merck since November 2022, Melanie also serves as a Biological Sample Management Scientist and Senior Biomarker Scientist at Adaptimmune since November 2020. Prior to these roles, Melanie spent over 14 years at the University of Pennsylvania, managing biobanking operations within the Center for Translational Lung Biology and overseeing a translational research lab focused on advanced lung disease. Additional experience includes a position as Procurement Coordinator at NDRI from 2005 to 2006 and a Research Assistant role at GSK in 2004. Educational qualifications include a Bachelor of Science in Microbiology from the University of the Sciences in Philadelphia and a Certificate in Clinical Research from the University of Pennsylvania.
